Updated ATP Rankings – March 2025
The battle for the world No.1 ranking in men’s tennis is always fierce, with only a select few players ever achieving this career-defining milestone. Over the past two decades, names like Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic, and Andy Murray dominated the rankings. However, a new generation of stars is now making its mark, pushing their way to the top.
🎾 Who is the World No.1 in Men’s Tennis?
With the first Grand Slam of 2025 completed, Jannik Sinner retains his position as the ATP World No.1, despite a three-month ban linked to last year’s doping case. The Italian secured back-to-back Australian Open titles, further solidifying his dominance.
Meanwhile, Stefanos Tsitsipas has climbed back into the top 10, while veterans like Novak Djokovic and Casper Ruud remain steady in the rankings. Alexander Zverev, despite finishing as the Australian Open runner-up, sits in second place but trails Sinner by a significant 3,000-point margin.

🏆 How Do ATP Tennis Rankings Work?
The ATP rankings are based on a player’s performance in sanctioned tournaments over the past 52 weeks. Players earn points depending on their progress in each tournament:
- Grand Slam winners receive 2,000 points, with 1,200 points for the runner-up.
- ATP Masters 1000 events offer between 600 and 1,000 points to the finalists.
- ATP 500 and 250 events award fewer points, depending on the tournament’s level.
- Rankings are updated weekly, except during Grand Slams when they remain static until the tournament concludes.
🔮 What’s Next in the ATP Season?
With Jannik Sinner leading the rankings, the race for the World No.1 spot will intensify as the tour moves towards the Sunshine Double—the Indian Wells and Miami Open tournaments.
Can Zverev or Alcaraz close the gap? Will Djokovic make a late-season push? Stay tuned as the ATP season unfolds!
